I’m looking for the top 10 ‘wow factor’ innovations in the retail sector at the moment… so things like digital signage for example, I’m looking for those things that make Retail managing director’s, Visual merchandiser’s, security director’s, and buyers go ‘WOW! I want that in my store!’ I want to know the trends in the retail sector the things that keep your customers in store longer and entice them to buy more… if you have seen something innovative that made you go ‘WOW!’ I wanna know about it… specially if you can tell me who did it (company name! especially if they service the UK)
I have an idea hat I have not seen before. When you have large screens in a store – TV’s or monitors – and they usually just show movies or a news channel, what about showing a commercial for the store you are in that is set up like a music video with a special dance? We all know jingles have been tremendously catchy enough to remain in the collective conciousness for decades, but with the current popularity of dance crazes, why not make up some corny little dance to go with it? Sure, people would laugh it off, but the key is they will remember it with the jingle. They may joke about it or make fun of the dance, but they will remember it and it will stick in their minds. Ultimately, what makes you top of mind is key, regardless of the means. People would stay in the stores longer to watch the commerical when it came on – laugh at it – and perhaps meet up with someone they are shopping with to have them watch it for a laugh as well.
